HOW OUR SHOW WORKS
The Lesco Pro Show N’ Shine is western Canada’s largest big rig truck show. Presented by Lesco Distributors, we host over 150 trucks and over 3000 spectators from across Alberta and beyond. Our show operates on a peer voting system, and awards and trophies are presented to the top 3 trucks in each of our categories. There will be no spectator voting this year. Instead, we will be inviting a committee of Leduc West Antique Society Members to select our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Best in Show.

Thursday:
NEW THIS YEAR – Thursday property access is only available to APPROVED participants who are FARTHER than a 3 hour drive from Leduc. If you are travelling from 3 hours away and will be coming in on Thursday, please respond to this email so we can accommodate you. The gate will be closed at 9PM. If you cannot arrive prior to 9PM, please find elsewhere to park for the evening and come back in the morning at 9AM. If you do not let us know you are coming – you will not be permitted to enter show grounds.

Parking RV units is not permitted on Thursday.

THE GATE WILL BE CLOSED.

Friday Registration:
Registration begins on Friday at 10 AM and closes at 5 PM. We will open the registration gate at 9AM on Friday and you will be permitted to enter the property so that you may be placed in our staging lanes. At the busiest times of the day our staging and registration process can take hours. Please be patient with our staff – we do our best to get you in and parked as quickly as possible.

DO NOT ARRIVE AT THE SHOW BEFORE 9AM ON FRIDAY. THE GATE WILL NOT BE OPEN AND YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARK ON THE ROADWAY.

Every single year we ask that participants do not show up early and every single year we get complaints from nearby residents that trucks are parked on the roadway and are creating a safety hazard. The reality is this: unhappy residents means NO PRO SHOW. We must be respectful of those who live within the vicinity of Leduc West or we will not be welcomed back. Period. Please follow our rules and guidelines. They have been created for the benefit of all involved with our show. If you arrive in town prior to 9AM on Friday morning, please find somewhere to park for the night (Black Jacks Roadhouse in Nisku).

Friday registration closes at 5PM sharp. Due to safety concerns, not a single truck will move on show grounds after 5PM when spectators begin to arrive. If you have made it through the gate prior to 5PM on Friday, but you have not made it through registration, you will remain in our staging lanes until registration opens again on Saturday morning. The gate will remain open until 7PM up until which time you are permitted to enter the property and into our staging lanes. If you cannot arrive before 7PM please park elsewhere for the night (Blackjacks Roadhouse) and return in the morning.

Saturday Registration:
Registration re-opens on Saturday morning at 9AM. Please do not arrive early, the gate will not be open. If you have been parked in our staging lanes over night, please ensure you are at your truck at 9AM SHARP so that we can continue the registration and parking process. If we cannot locate you – you will hold up the line and stall registration for everyone. Registration on Saturday closes at 12PM SHARP or when the last truck arrives on property. Entry after 12:00 p.m. will only be allowed if previous arrangements have been made. If you will be late or you are not showing up – please let us know so we don’t wait for you.

Parking and Pictures:
Once you have completed our registration process you will be directed to our photographer. Your registration includes one printed photo of your truck. If you do not wish to have your picture taken, you can decline – however you must remain in the photo line so that we do not disrupt the flow of parking.

Once you have had your photo taken, one of our parking crew will escort you to the show area. The layout of the show is determined prior to the event and we make every effort to park every truck with their assigned category. Please do not ask to park by a friend unless you show up at exactly the same time and are in the same category.

Parking over 150 trucks in a short amount of time can be stressful for all involved. Please have patience with our parking crew and trust their expertise. There is method to their madness.

If you have any concerns or issues during the show, please reach out to Danielle at 587-784-4673 or find her at the registration booth or info tent. We have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespect or abuse toward our volunteers. Any form of hostility or intimidation may result in you being asked to leave the show.

Food & Meals:
Your registration includes ONE wristband that you can show in exchange for breakfast and dinner on SATURDAY. If you will be bringing any guests for breakfast or dinner, you must purchase additional armbands. Armbands MUST be purchased prior to September 5 so that we can give numbers to our caterer. We will not be selling extra armbands at the show this year, WE MEAN IT. We have been too accommodating the last few years. This over inflates our numbers and we end up running out of food. If you show up to the show and have not purchased additional armbands, your guests will need to find food elsewhere.

If you will require additional armbands for your guests (including children) you can purchase them online or at Lesco PRIOR to September 5.

If you did not add extra armbands to your registration, you can purchase extra armbands now here.

While meals are not provided on Friday, you can purchase from our Food Trucks on site. We have increased the number of food trucks this year to ensure less wait time for participants and spectators.

Alcohol:
Alcohol of any kind is NOT permitted on show grounds during public hours (Friday 5PM – 10PM and Saturday 10AM – 5PM). However, your truck cab and RV are considered private, and you are welcome to do what you wish in those areas. Once the gates are closed to public, you are welcome to bring alcohol beyond your truck cab or RV. 2 years ago we were reported to AGLC because someone had open liquor on show grounds. Breaking this regulation comes with a hefty fine and the possibility that our show could be shut down. Please do not walk around with open liquor during public hours. If Lesco is fined by AGLC – you will be responsible for paying that fine.

RV/Tent Camping:
Camping is permitted within our designated camping area. A camping pass is required to camp on site.

Camping passes are not included in your registration fee. If you have not already, you can purchase camping passes on our website here. Once a camping pass is purchased, you will receive a window placard and instructions that will include our camping rules and guidelines.

*Please note that you are permitted to stay overnight on Friday and Saturday in your registered show truck – a camping pass is not required*

Show Communication:
In addition to communicating via email during this years show, we will also be using FM radio to communicate with participants. You’ll find our chosen “station” posted on the registration trailer at the show.

“Friday Night Lights” – VOTED BY LESCO VOLUNTEERS
“Presidents Award” – This will go to the truck that is most impressive to the owner of Lesco Distributors Inc.

EXITING THE SHOW ON SATURDAY NIGHT:
We understand that you may need to leave the showgrounds after our awards ceremony. Please use EXTREME caution when moving around the showgrounds after dark. There are many children and small animals that attend our show. When possible, we ask that you please have a spotter to help escort you off the showgrounds safely. If you have children at the show with you, please ensure they are supervised as trucks begin leaving after the awards ceremony.

Bonfire & Music:
After the awards are complete, we will once again have a bonfire (weather permitting) for everyone to enjoy, and music will be provided. You are welcome to participate in this or carry on and do your own thing.  We recommend that you bring a lawn chair.

Sound Curfew:
ABSOLUTELY NO HORN-BLOWING OR LOUD MUSIC AFTER 11 PM

SUNDAY:

There is no formal program for Sunday morning. You can exit the showgrounds at any time on Sunday morning. We hope you had a great weekend, and we’ll see you next year.

HOW VOTING WORKS:
Voting will open shortly after 12PM on Saturday and will close at 3PM. Show voting is now done online via Google Forms. QR codes to access the online voting form will be provided at registration and will also be made available to participants on the day of the show. Paper voting slips will also be provided. We recommend using the paper ballot to make your selections before inputting them on our Google Form. Those without access to the online form or that need assistance voting can turn in their paper ballot at the information tent. Digital and paper voting forms are for voting on your peer’s trucks in each category. Please ensure you are selecting the correct truck number for each category. A Peterbilt may not be in the Peterbilt category – they could be in vintage, etc. Ensuring your votes are inputted correctly saves us from having to track you down to fix your ballot.

If you do not vote, votes for your truck do not count, and you will be disqualified from the awards portion of the show. If you have not voted by 3PM we will make one attempt to contact you. If you do not respond, you will be disqualified. If you do not wish to vote for your peers, you will not need a number for your truck – please let us know by replying to this email so that we can remove you from the ballot.

NEW THIS YEAR – There will be no spectator voting this year due to suspected cheating over the last 2 shows. We want our show to be fair and fun for all involved and cheating has been discouraging for all of us. As there is no feasible way for us to ensure a perfect system, we have decided to eliminate spectator voting this year. Our best in show will be selected by a committee of Leduc West Antique Society Members. We appreciate your understanding surrounding this unfortunate situation.
